How Confident Are You About Your Family’s Safety and Security?
We at Strand Security want only two things.
Your Security and your safety. After all, that’s our business!
With having said that, our number one job is to KEEP burglars out of your home in order to keep you and yours safe. There are many ways to do that and we’ve made a handy infographic about it for you share! (see below)
Number ONE on our list is installing a security system with monthly monitoring; we are great advocates because when YOU CAN’T call for help, we can, and help will be on the way regardless of whether you are incapacitated, or not! If you don’t do it for yourself, think about your family members – you do not wish for anyone to go through a home invasion, right?

How To Prevent a Home Invasion!
Prevention, prevention, prevention.
1) Display a Security Company Sign
It should go without saying that you do not just display the sign, but you actually have a security system and activate it every night and during the day when you are home or gone.
2) Use Deadbolt Locks and Long Screws
The long screws will prevent someone from kicking in the door and breaking the deadbolt lock! Check your screws – it’s a simple and cheap fix for a real security breach.
3) Purchase and Install Solid Wood Core Doors
Again, solid wood core doors are almost impossible to kick in. When it’s time to replace doors, choose wisely.
4) Keep Windows Closed and Locked at Night
Make sure to instruct your (young) children and teens to do so as well – it’s easy to overlook the kids rooms.
5) Install Motion Activated Floodlights
These lights will pop on anytime something, or someone, is trying to approach your home. It’s an easy deterrent and also might alert you to impending trouble.
6) Keep Your Garage Door Closed and Locked
Make it a habit to lock up at night and check your garage doors!
7) Keep Shrubs Trimmed and Short Near Windows
You certainly don’t want anyone lurking in your bushes, right? Keeping them short and trimmed prevents someone from using your shrubs as a hiding spot prior to a break-in.
8) Leave Your Spare Key With A Neighbor, Not Outside Your Home
Many burglars enter homes without ever having to kick in a door or break a window because they’ve found an even easier way to enter – with the spare key left under a rock! Don’t do that – leave your spare key with a neighbor instead!
